EA is rolling out patch V1.19 across all platforms today with several fixes but no new content or new features.
Important changes
The McLaren chrome livery now renders correctly. This livery was available as a reward to players who completed the Lando Norris Challenge that was released towards the end of last year. It was quite a popular challenge meaning that a huge number of players will be affected by this fix.
One other change that we found unusual was the removal of DLSS frame generation. This is a big performance feature that's now not available without any explanation. We're expecting it to be enabled again soon but we have no idea what went wrong that it had to be disabled in the first place.
Final thoughts
Patch V1.19 represents for us, the last couple of patches for F1 23 before F1 24 gets released. The game still has a lot of bugs but as usual, EA will just move on to the next game without completely fixing the current game.
We do however appreciate the updates that have been released for F1 23 thus far but think that F1 24 needs to be built on a brand new engine that not only takes advantage of modern hardware and technologies but hopefully gets released with a lot fewer bugs.
