iRacing's Season 4 update kicks off tomorrow with some new content and features. Here’s a short list of the new cars and tracks as well as some of the new features that we think you may enjoy.
Cars
- BMW M4 G82 GT4
- McLaren 720S GT3 EVO
- Mini Stock
- Dirt Mini Stock
Both the Mini Stock and Dirt Mini Stock are a free download for all iRacing members. The 720S McLaren was not released during last week's Season 4 update but arrived today after approval from McLaren.
Tracks
The Cadwell Park Circuit is the only new track added to iRacing for Season 4.
The good news however is the 2024 rescan of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and an art update of Circuit Zolder were also released. If you are already an owner of these two tracks, then you’ll receive the newer versions as a free update.
Features
There are quite a few new features added to this season's update that are mainly quality-of-life updates. One notable feature is the ability to launch an AI race session based on an official session. This will essentially take the conditions of an existing official race and transfer it to an AI session allowing you to race in official conditions against AI that should help you with race preparation.
For the complete list of features for this season, refer to the official release notes here.
Final thoughts
This was not a big update in terms of new content and features but after the massive updates we received previously, especially the stunning rain update, we think that the team at iRacing earned a smaller update break.
Our favourite part of the Season 4 update is the new Mclaren. We enjoy driving it in ACC and have big plans to race it extensively on iRacing. What's your favourite piece of content/feature on iRacing's Season 4 update of 2024?
