We consider Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) as the overall best GT racing simulator available. This week saw the release of the American Track Pack for ACC which includes three new laser-scanned tracks.
Circuit Of The Americas (COTA)
COTA isn't a very popular track in sim racing probably due to its technical nature. The track combines fast sweeping sections with very slow tight sections linked together by a couple of long straights. COTA is used for everything from Formula 1, the World Endurance Championship and the GT World Challenge. We love COTA and enjoy the challenge the track presents as well as the fact that there are several opportunities for overtaking.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
This is the road course version of the famous Indianapolis track as used in the World GT Challenge. It's also used in several different categories of motorsport and tends to provide good racing with a couple of solid overtaking opportunities.
Watkins Glen International
This is our favourite track out of the three included in the DLC. It's fast and rewards a smooth driving style. It's hosted a variety of motorsport series over the years including Formula 1, NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA Sportscar Championship and the GT World Challenge. Its wide corners and generous runoff areas at critical corners lends itself to good racing.
Conclusion
ACC is currently heavily discounted as part of the Steam Summer Sale 2022. The American Track Pack DLC sells for R200 (±$12). The three-track are laser scanned in all their glory and are incredibly detailed with true-to-life accuracy. This DLC like all the others for ACC is highly recommended.
