Three new cars were announced recently for Assetto Corsa Competizione, which will be released on 19 April 2023. We predicted that a track might be announced as part of this big content drop, and thankfully, Kunos revealed this new track yesterday.
Circuit Ricardo Tormo
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo, or just plain Valencia to us regular folks, is a 14-corner, 4.005km circuit located in Spain. It's hosted various categories of motorsport over the years, including MotoGP, Formula E, DTM and the GT World Challenge Europe championship.
The track is tight and twisty without too many solid overtaking opportunities. A good car setup prioritising low-speed traction is critical for achieving competitive lap time.
Conclusion
April 19 will be a big day for Assetto Corsa Competizione, with so much new content being released. We're not sure if there's going to be any more content announced before the 19th, but we're hoping that the Magny-Cours track gets added to this content drop.
There have been some rumours flying around about Assetto Corsa 2 that would make you think that Kunos will stop development on ACC to focus their resources on that instead. However, the 19 April content drop confirms that this isn't the case, and ACC still has a lot of life left in it.
